The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt’s DLC will be free for all

CD Projekt Red knows how to do it right.

DLC has become, for a lot of companies, either a money-spinner, or a way to influence pre-order decisions. But that’s not the case with CD Projekt Red and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Red announced recently that the game will be getting 16 separate DLC packages, and they’ll all be free.

Free!

You do not have to pre-order the game – you can just buy it normally. You do not need the Collector’s Edition – any edition will be getting the new content. And they’re also going to be coming thick and fast, with packs released two at time, every week, from the game’s launch on the May 19, 2015.

The DLCs aren’t all that big, though. The first two just offer a new armour set and some different hair and beards for Geralt (hipster beards?), but hey – free! And the second set at least contains a whole new quest, which is nothing to sniff at when (once again) you remember it’s FREE.

Nice move, CD Projekt Red. Now hurry up and get cracking on Cyberpunk 2077!
